\n Maybe it was because I got back from Vermont late on Sunday night. Or maybe it was because I haven\u2019t shot outfits in a few weeks. Or maybe it was because I felt weird posting on September 11th. Whatever the reason was, I made sure Elle and I took a break from the blog. Elle actually wasn\u2019t too happy about it, but I knew it was right.\n <\/p>\n

\n Whenever you ask a blogger what the

\n most important tactic
\n <\/strong>
\n is\u2026it\u2019s
\n
\n always
\n <\/em>
\n consistency. If you\u2019re not consistent, your readers won\u2019t be consistently coming back. I, too, am a huge advocate for consistency. That\u2019s one of the main things brands\/agencies say stick out about me: I\u2019m still consistent with my website even in the age of Instagram.\n <\/p>\n

\n Don\u2019t think of it as not being consistent

\n <\/h4>\n

\n When I think of a blogger being consistent, I think of a \u201cschedule\u201d. Does he or she post every Monday, Wednesday, Friday? Does he or she only post on Mondays? Whatever it is, there should be a rhyme or reason behind someone\u2019s posting schedule. That\u2019s what keeps readers coming back\u2026.because they

\n know
\n <\/strong>
\n their favorite influencer. That\u2019s consistency. But when your favorite blogger just happens to take a break for a day, two days, the whole week? I wouldn\u2019t panic. It\u2019s when the posting becomes so sporadic, that\u2019s when it becomes an issue. I\u2019ve learned not to beat myself up over taking a few days off from the blog. And it\u2019s truly like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.\n <\/p>\n

\n Mental health breaks > page views
\n <\/strong>
\n <\/h4>\n

\n Now more than ever, it\u2019s important to take care of ourselves: both mentally and physically. It should be a no brainer that your mental health should come before getting page views. Unfortunately, that\u2019s not always the case. Yes, this is my business. Yes, I\u2019m relied on heavily to post on this platform. Yes, I thoroughly enjoy doing it. But, the page views will come in other ways and in other ways. A few days off to hit the reset button is A-OK in my book. This was a slow week for the blog due to a few campaigns getting pushed out for another week or so. I decided to capitalize on this because I didn\u2019t really have any back up content created. Why rush a post that I wasn\u2019t 1000% sure of or 100% worked through?\n <\/p>\n

\n It\u2019s okay to focus on something else
\n <\/strong>
\n <\/h4>\n

\n Being a blogger is an amazing thing. I love this blog SO much. But why does that mean I shouldn\u2019t focus on other passions? Over the last few weeks, I\u2019ve been thinking a lot about what\u2019s super important to me. Yes, I love my job and I love my blog \u2013 they\u2019re two huge passions of mine. But what about other things? You\u2019re entitled to having more than one passion, and it\u2019s OK to focus on one passion at a time (so long as you\u2019re not wearing yourself down). That\u2019s kind of where I was at this week. I focused on other things I wanted to do: Research an idea, read more, going to bed extra early.\n <\/p>\n

\n I think we get caught up in the pressure of posting and the digital space in general. I always strive to make sure myself and my readers know that we cannot be taking this too seriously!\n <\/p>\n\n
